And We Will Be Formless And Sacred As The Ocean
This novel is a love story taking place in Hawaii, amongst American high society in 1936.
The book is not part of the 20th Century Bohemians and Angels novel cycle. Although it may be included in a chronological reading of the socio-political history of the 20th Century.
In 1936 a world famous American author arrives in Hawaii from bohemian Paris, fleeing totalitarianism and war. He claims that he is there to write and search the high jungle for a forgotten black orchid, mentioned by Captain James Cook in the marginalia of his ship log of 1779.
After the author meets a married Dutch woman who is mistress of a sugar cane plantation, and the flamboyant lesbian who adores her from a distance, he is accepted into the colonialist island community.
Quickly his bohemianism brings him into conflict with the morally decadent but discreet mores of the imperialistic community.
The story examines love and the loss of it.

Love Is A Simple Thing,The Sound Of A Cello Singing
This novel concerns the lives of the exiled artists and bohemians of Paris in the 1920s.
It is the first published novel of the 20th Century Bohemians and Angels novel cycle.
In the early 1920s a young American couple escape to Paris to fulfill their dreams of a bohemian life of art and liberation. There in the Montparnasse community of artists and exiles Gene believes he can finally write a great novel. Paris is undergoing a great golden age of art and expression, and both of them long to be a part of it.
Among the artists of Paris they find the world to which they have longed to belong. But it is a world which transforms people from what they have desired to become, into what they will always be.
What is expressed cannot be unexpressed, and encounters with the exotic kill the pleasures of the everyday. Paris is in a mad fever of inspiration, an erotic fever. Here life and art are not separated, and what is inside a person will reveal itself.
The story examines the nature of love and expression and the things which make us truly come alive.

20th Century Bohemians and Angels
20th Century Bohemians and Angels is a cycle of novels by Lee Vidor.
The cycle is an extended work of fiction which explores the Modernist Renaissance which took place throughout the 20th Century, and which made our contemporary world.
The fictional themes of the cycle are love, sex, death, art.
Each book is a work of fiction, each book is entirely independent but thematically related. You can begin reading the cycle with any book, all of the novels are complete in themselves.
The novel cycle attempts to create an integrated picture of the real lives of the revolutionary modernists and the bohemian milieus in which they lived and created all through the 20th Century.
It also traces the socio-political developments of the evolving century, particularly as related to sexuality, self expression and women's liberation. Historically the 20th Century will come to be seen as The Century of Women.
The cycle dramatizes the 20th Century as a Renaissance which has been historically far more important to the development of mankind than the Renaissance of c.15th Century.

The first 6 will be published in 2011-12. A following 3 novels will be published in 2013.
